Service Description

Navigating the special education system can be confusing, frustrating, and emotionally draining—especially when you're trying to advocate for your child to receive the support they deserve. At On the Bayou Tutoring Inc., we provide personalized, compassionate advocacy coaching for parents and caregivers who want clarity, confidence, and real guidance through the IEP and 504 Plan process. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been through a few meetings already, our goal is to help you understand your rights, ask the right questions, and push for the services your child is entitled to. We don’t just explain the paperwork—we help you read between the lines, identify red flags, and become an empowered advocate for your child’s education. Our services are ideal for: Parents new to IEP or 504 plans who feel overwhelmed Families whose children may need evaluations or support services Caregivers who don’t fully understand what’s in their child’s current plan Anyone who wants support preparing for school meetings or follow-ups We offer three levels of support based on your needs: 🧭 IEP/504 Basics Session A one-hour virtual session for parents who are new to the process. We break down terms, timelines, and your rights in everyday language. You’ll leave with clarity, a better understanding of your next steps, and a list of essential questions to ask at your child’s school. 🗂️ Document Review + Strategy We review your child’s current IEP or 504 Plan and provide a clear summary with feedback. You’ll get personalized suggestions, help identifying gaps or vague language, and tips to prepare for your next meeting. Includes a follow-up call and a printable parent prep checklist. 💼 Full Advocacy Coaching For parents who want long-term guidance and a partner in the process. We provide multiple check-ins per month, help you prep for meetings, coach you through difficult conversations with school staff, and offer ongoing support via email and phone. We know the stakes are high, and you shouldn’t have to figure it out alone. With our advocacy support, you’ll gain not only knowledge—but confidence, language, and a plan to speak up for your child with power and purpose.
